2016 Drinking Water Report
In recent months, there have been reports of lead in the drinking water of several New Jersey schools. At Hunterdon Central, our drinking water is supplied by the Flemington Water Department. They are responsible for monitoring water quality and reporting the results. Lead sampling within the school is not required, but in light of recent events, the Board of Education and administrative team at Hunterdon Central decided to take a proactive approach and test for lead.
On April 8, 2016, McGowan Well Water Compliance Management Company, following the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) lead rule requirements, collected ten samples from the upper campus and ten samples from the lower campus of the high school. The samples were analyzed on April 14, and all passed the EPA requirements for lead.
