athletic Department Overview:

The Athletic Department at Hunterdon Central strives to provide our student-athletes with a comprehensive, well-planned and balanced program of 33 interscholastic sports.

Hunterdon Central is a member of the NJSIAA, the Skyland Conference, the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Athletic Association and the Mid-State 39 Football Conference.

Hunterdon Central's Athletic Department has won the Star Ledger Cup in 2000 and 2001 and the ShopRite Cup for Excellence in Athletics, Academics and Sportsmanship in 2008, 2011 and 2012.

    Football update ... we're back at Bridgewater! Saturday's game will now be played at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, on Saturday, September 13, at 7:00 PM.

    Football Game Day and Site Change vs Bridgewater-Raritan High School

    This week's football game vs Bridgewater-Raritan has changed regarding game day and location. Bridgewater field is unavailable due to instillation of new turf; game day will be on Saturday, September 13, at Somerville High School. Game time is 7:00 PM.

    Field Hockey Wins Conference Opener/Nickel Scores Career 100 Point

    Hunterdon Central defeated Hillsborough in the Skyland Conference Opener for both programs, by the score of 5-1. Kendall Nickel scored two goals (including the 100 point of her career), and Hannah Cechini recorded eight saves in goal to lead Hunterdon Central past Hillsborough. Kailey Dalgauer, Amanda Whitlock and Brianna Semanchik also scored in the five goal output.

    Girls Soccer Wins Conference Opener

    Hunterdon Central Girl's Soccer team defeated Hillsborough in the Skyland Conference opner for both teams, by the score of 2-0. Christine Tack and Brie Pavol lead the offense, while Bristol Pizzuto made 10 saves in goal.

    Boys Soccer Wins Conference Opener

    Hunterdon Central Boys Soccer team defeated Hillsborough in the Skyland Conference opener for both teams, by the score of 3-1. Nick Provenzano scored in the first half at the 12 minute mark, and teammates James Coulson and Austin Jennis finished the scoring in the second.

    Girls Tennis Wins Conference Opener

    Hunterdon Central Girls Tennis team defeated Bridgewater by the score of 3-2, in the Skyland Conference opener for both teams. Alexander Switzler won at 3rd Singles 6-2, 6-1, Morgan Timberlake and Ellen Ghong won at 1st Doubles 3-6. 6-1, 6-2 and Molly Ehasz, and Brielle Morgan won at 2nd Doubles 6-4, 6-1.

    Cheerleading Meeting on September 8, 2014

    Anyone interested in trying out for the cheerleading team must attend an interest meeting on Monday, September 8, during block 5 in the Auxiliary gym. There will be important information discussed on what paperwork will be needed to tryout.

    If your son or daughter is planning to try out for a winter sport at Hunterdon Central, please note that registration for all winter sports is now open, and runs through October 24, 2014.
