athletic Department Overview:

The Athletic Department at Hunterdon Central strives to provide our student-athletes with a comprehensive, well-planned and balanced program of 33 interscholastic sports.

Hunterdon Central is a member of the NJSIAA, the Skyland Conference, the Hunterdon/Warren/Sussex County Athletic Association and the Mid-State 39 Football Conference.

Hunterdon Central's Athletic Department has won the Star Ledger Cup in 2000 and 2001 and the ShopRite Cup for Excellence in Athletics, Academics and Sportsmanship in 2008, 2011 and 2012.

    Boys Hoops Defeat Watchung Hills

    Hunterdon Central's Cole Hanntz scored 23 points to help Hunterdon Central earn a 70-64 victory over Watchung Hills. Chad Dreswick and Tucker Richardson both contributed 12 points, while Colin McNeil chipped in nine for Hunterdon Central.

    Girls Basketball Wins With 6 Seconds Left On Clock

    HC's Michelle Lalor hit a 3-pointer with six seconds remaining, to push Hunterdon Central past Ridge, 37-35. Trailing 35-34, Christian Mitrow broke through Ridge's full-court press and found Lalor behind the arc for the game-winning shot. Mitrow finished with nine points and Lalor tallied five. Kylie Fisher chipped in with eight points.

    Central Boys Basketball Defeats Phillipsburg

    HC's Tucker Richardson scored 16 points to lead Hunterdon Central to a 48-36 victory over Phillipsburg. Hunterdon Central led 33-28 going into the final period and outscored Phillipsburg 15-9 to extend the lead. Myles Thomas and Pat Clare both scored eight points.

    Girls Pole Vault NJSIAA State Relay Champions

    Hunterdon Central's Sabrina Anderson 11'7" and Madison Heft 11'0" capture the NJSIAA State Relay State Championship for the second consecutive year. Sabrina is the co-leader in the state with her jump of 11'7" and just missing at 12'0". Central's SMR team finished 2nd over-all 4.10:47 just off its US 4th best time of 4/10:32. The girls finished 6th over-all in the competition.
