All Juniors will take the HSPA; passing the HSPA is a requirement for graduation in the State of New Jersey. Make-up HSPA days for Juniors are March 13, 14, 15 only. Students who miss the HSPA in March must take it in their senior year. On February 14, 2012 all Juniors will receive the HSPA Student Preparation Booklet; please review this booklet practice the sample questions.
All Sophomores will take the Diagnostic HSPA. This test is used to diagnose any skill weaknesses and offer remediation to improve a student’s capacity to pass the HSPA. Students who do not pass the Diagnostic HSPA may have their schedule changed to address necessary skill enhancement during the junior year. Make up Diagnostic HSPA days for Sophomores are March 16 and March 19.
All Freshmen will participate in an instructional program in the Auditorium at 7:35 AM each day during the HSPA testing.
All Seniors who have not yet passed the HSPA are required to take the test. Seniors who are not testing and who drive will report to school after Unit Lunch at 11:11 AM on March 6 and March 7. On March 8, all seniors who are not testing must report to the Fieldhouse at 9:30 AM for a senior meeting. Seniors who do not drive or who cannot get their own transportation will report to the Senior House Office at 7:35 AM each day of testing.
The modified academic schedule for each HSPA testing day is as follows:
- Tuesday, March 6: Testing, Unit Lunch, Block 3, Block 4
- Wednesday, March 7: Testing, Unit Lunch, Block 1, Block 2
- Thursday, March 8: Testing, Shortened Block 1, Unit Lunch, Shortened Block 3, Shortened Block 4
All students who have completed an Advanced Placement (AP) course at Hunterdon Central or on-line may choose to take this test.
Students received information about registration and the testing process from their AP teachers during the week of February 21, 2012. Any student who has completed an AP course on-line should pick up the registration information from the Testing Center in Trailer C.
Registration for the AP test is March 19 - March 23, 2012 in Trailer C, from 7:00AM to 3:00 PM. There is no late registration after these dates. Students must complete the registration form and personally bring it to Trailer C, in order to receive a registration confirmation.
Testing will be off-site and will not affect the academic schedule of the school. All students taking the test must take the bus to the testing site. No student will be allowed to drive to the test.
All students regardless of grade level, who have completed, or who are taking a Biology I class, during the 2011-2012 school year are required to take the NJBCT.
All Freshmen who are not taking the Biology Competency Test will take the ACT Explore Assessment which will be used as a diagnostic tool to analyze academic strengths and weaknesses.
All AM Polytech students who are not testing will report to AM Polytech.
All Sophomores and Juniors who are not testing and are not in AM Polytech will participate in a program in the Auditorium.
All Seniors who are not testing and are not AM Polytech, and who drive to school or who can provide their own transportation, will report to school by 9:40 AM.
The modified academic schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday is as follows:
- Testing: 7:35 AM to 9:45 AM
- Block 1: Shortened block
- Unit Lunch: 10:38 AM to 11:11 AM
- Block 2: Shortened block
- Block 3: Shortened block
- Block 4: Shortened block
Make up Biology days are May 17 and May 18 only.
