Hunterdon Central uses a POS (point of sale) system in our cafeteria. Instead of using cash, students may have cash/checks deposited into a "“Food Service” Debit account. This reduces time-consuming cash transactions, and makes lunch lines move much faster.
Note that while cash will still be accepted in the cafeteria, our hope is that many parents will appreciate the ease and convenience of prepaying for their child’s lunch. Prepaid funds will be held safely in trust by the school district.
Parents/guardians can also choose whether their children can have unrestricted use of prepaid funds,
(meaning that they can purchase anything sold in the school cafeteria), or purchases to “Breakfast and Lunch Only”. Please indicate on the form below, how you would like prepaid funds to be allocated.
Please send initial deposits directly to your school cafeteria. Note that we encourage parents/guardians to send as large a dollar amount as possible, as a convenience…the larger the amount, the fewer times during the year a student's account will have to be replenished. Checks/Money Orders should be made payable to "HCRHS.” Student name and ID number should be placed on all checks.
Please complete the
Food Service Prepaid Form and return it with the deposit check/money order in an envelope marked "LUNCH PROGRAM." Please note that there is a $20.00 fee for returned checks.
Again, although it is preferred that all students utilize the debit system, cash will still be accepted at all registers.
We ask all parents/guardians to assist us by encouraging sons/daughters to use their school I.D. when purchasing food. This will help move the lunch lines more quickly. Student photos will be attached to each account for identification and security purposes.
Any student graduating or not returning will only receive account balance refunds that are $10.00 or more. At the end of the school year all balances will remain on account for returning
students.
