Hunterdon Central Regional High School Class of 2012
Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Time: 10:00 AM
Location: Stewart Field
Ticket Information
Tickets: 5 per graduate (only 2 per graduate will be valid if ceremony is indoors.) Graduation tickets will be distributed to senior students at the Senior Meeting on Thursday, June 14..
Standing room only tickets
A limited number of “Standing Room Only” tickets are available if graduation takes place outside in Stewart Memorial Stadium. There is a limit of 2 extra "Standing Room Only" tickets per student.
To request extra "Standing Room" tickets, please download, print and complete the Standing Room Only Ticket Request Form and submit it to the 11/12 House Office by Friday, June 1.
If extra tickets are available, they will be distributed to students at the Senior Meeting on Thursday, June 14.
Please note: Extra tickets are available for an outdoor graduation only. If inclement weather requires graduation to be moved inside, only the two white “indoor tickets” may be used for the indoor ceremony.
Inclement Weather Plan
Every attempt will be made to have an outdoor ceremony. If the weather forecast calls for a light rain with no thunder/lightening in the morning, we will hold graduation outdoors at 10:00 AM. In this event, please dress appropriately and bring umbrellas, in order to be comfortable during the outdoor ceremony.
If there are more severe weather conditions with thunder/lightening in the morning, we will postpone the ceremony until 1:00 PM, in an attempt to have the ceremony outdoors. However, if severe weather conditions persist and an outdoor ceremony is impossible, the graduation ceremony will be held indoors at 1:00 PM. We will notify families by phone, listserv and the website if weather conditions cause us to implement any aspect of this inclement weather plan.
Parking & Shuttle Transportation
On-site parking for graduation is extremely limited. Graduates and their guests are encouraged to use off-site parking and shuttle bus service to and from Hunterdon Central. Parking and shuttles are free of charge and riders need only show a graduation ticket or their cap/gown to ride.
Off-site parking will be available at: Wal-Mart, BJ’s Wholesale Club and the Shoppes at Flemington. Please be aware that these businesses are open on Friday and park in these areas:
- Wal-Mart: park at back by the garden center.
- BJ’s: park at the far right of the building (tire shop end.)
- Shoppes at Flemington: park in the front southwest parking lot by Realville Rd, away from the front of any stores.
Shuttles will depart from the off-site parking lots at 8:30 AM, 8:50 AM, 9:15 AM and 9:30 AM for a 10:00 AM Graduation.
In the case of an indoor graduation at 1:00 PM, shuttles will depart from the off-site parking lots at 11:30 AM, 11:50 AM, 12:15 PM and 12:30 PM.
Return shuttles will operate after the ceremony from the drop off point (Transportation Compound for an outside graduation, Front of Commons for an inside graduation) to the off-site parking lots. Shuttles will leave 30 minutes after the completion of the ceremony, or as soon as the bus is full, and will continue to operate until all riders are returned to the off-site lots.
Please note: Due to pedestrian traffic, the campus inner roadway will be closed on graduation day.
Graduates are not permitted to park on campus on Graduation Day; they should take the shuttle. Please plan accordingly.
Graduation Speeches
Each year, in addition to the valedictorian, one senior is selected to deliver the Senior Speech. Students who are interested in doing this, should note these instructions:
- Interested students should write the speech they would like to deliver and submit it by email to the Mr. Schneebeli by the end of the school day, May 31.
- The speech should take no longer than 2 minutes to deliver.
- A committee will select the students they would like to audition "live." A final selection will be made by the committee.
- The theme is up to the students, but should be reflective and positive in nature.
This information has also been sent to all senior students. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Schneebeli at: rschneeb@hcrhs.k12.nj.us
