The Lamp Online, the online student newspaper of Hunterdon Central Regional High School is an open, public forum for student expression, to promote inquiry and to provide an authentic venue to showcase student work. Opinions expressed are those of the writer and do not necessarily reflect the position of the school board, administration, sponsors, staff, or student body.

Copyright/Fair Use:

The Lamp Online respects copyright laws and expects all who post to this site follow the guidelines of Fair Use. In accordance with this doctrine, The Lamp Online occasionally uses book covers, album covers, movie posters and other copyrighted works for the purposes of criticism, comment and news reporting. Ethical Guidelines:

The Lamp Online staff will work toward meeting the standards set for professional journalism developed by the Journalism Education Association. This includes, but it is not limited to, a code of ethics concerning accuracy, balance, fairness, independence, and responsibility.

The Lamp Online staff will not alter the content of news photographs through technical or other means. Image enhancements for technical clarity are permissible. The staff will not recreate events or photographs.

Editorial and Commenting Policy:

The Lamp Online promotes the use of responsible discussion within our school community. All students and staff are made members of this website for the purpose of posting and commenting. Authors and commentors will be identified by first name and last initial and are subject to the school's Acceptable Use Policy. Any comments that are abusive, derogatory, bullying or personal in nature, or that mention, in a negative manner, a student or staff member by name, are not permitted and will be removed. The Lamp Online values accuracy. We will make every attempt to correct errors in a timely manner. If the staff determines a significant error has occurred, a formal correction will appear and remain a permanent alteration to the online article or copy.
