The mission of the HCRHS Archives is to promote greater awareness of the history of Hunterdon Central Regional High School by collecting and preserving records regarding the origins and continuing development of the District. These records include pictorial, audio-visual, electronic and written records, as well as material artifacts and other records worthy of preservation. The records will be preserved in the collection and made available for public research.
The HCRHS Archives will:
- Provide a comprehensive and permanent system for the preservation of the school district's institutional history.
- Provide a means for sharing the school district's institutional history with the boarder community in the sending school districts and elsewhere.
- Provide a program through which faculty, staff and students can learn the importance of historic preservation and how to use archival resources to generate historical understanding.
- Generate community support for the school district based upon the presentation of institutional history in print and electronic media, and to preserve the collective memory of the high school experience.
- Provide opportunities for the recognition and remembrance of notable events, individuals and programs in the history of Hunterdon Central Regional High School.
- Reinforce the significance of interpreting the institutional history of Hunterdon Central Regional High School, as part of broader patterns of historical change in New Jersey, the United States of America and our contemporary world.
