The Hunterdon Central School Foundation is an independent, community-based, nonprofit organization, which seeks to set an example of community involvement and support for public schools.
The Foundation seeks to assist the Hunterdon Central Regional School District by securing private-sector resources and community support for:
- enhancing the educational experiences of students;
- preparing students for higher education and the world of work;
- building student understanding of the American system of private enterprise;
- other purposes for which public funding is not available.
Support
In recent years, the Foundation has been able to provide funding for in-home computer equipment for students with financial needs, senior-citizen technology courses (taught by students), school spirit sportswear, Teacher of the Year awards and the 50th Anniversary Celebration.
The Foundation also encourages teachers to make formal proposals for grant money that will have a direct, positive impact on students.
Membership
The Foundation is made up of an active, all-volunteer Foundation Board. Members include alumni, former staff, parents and local citizens who share the common goal of helping the Hunterdon Central community. The Foundation continues to seek new members who have the same commitment and dedication to our community and its children.
Fundraising
In order to raise funds, the Foundation relies on private donations, as well as fund-raising events, like the annual Hall of Fame dinner.
