The following statement has been released by Hunterdon Central's Board of Education:
Hunterdon Central BOE Reporting Progress in Selection of New Superintendent
The Hunterdon Central Regional High School Board of Education is reporting progress in their search for a permanent District Superintendent and is hopeful that the candidate will assume responsibility for the district on July 1, 2017. The district is currently being led by Dr. Johanna Ruberto, an interim superintendent, whose contract expires on June 30, 2017.
The Board of Education is working with Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates (HYA), a national executive search firm with expertise in education, on the search. Over the past several months, HYA has been meeting with various constituents, conducted an online survey and facilitated public sessions to create a profile of a leader that will best meet the needs and goals of the Hunterdon Central community. Using this criteria, the Board of Education interviewed several qualified candidates that were selected by HYA from a wide field of external applicants. No internal applications were received.
Deb Labbadia, President of the Hunterdon Central Board of Education, said, "I am extremely encouraged by the number of qualified educators that applied for the position and by the Board's consensus in the selection of our top candidate. The Board will conduct a site visit to further assess this individual by meeting with the candidate's supervisors and colleagues. I believe we will be introducing our new superintendent to the community in early March, or sooner, as we had planned."
